As 2030 hours rolled by, the blue lights of the DSO HQ flicked off, the street lights of the villa complex slowly turned off, section by section. Eventually, the community centre, the streets and most of the villas went dark.
DSO was immersed in Earth Hour - well most of DSO.

Scam at Spinneys DSO
A warning to all that shop at spinneys in DSO. Since the new management has taken over a few weeks ago, I have had five events where the charged price is up to double of the shelf price. When I question the till operator, I merely get a head shake.
The two ladies behind me last night stated that they had similar expereinces in the last two weeks.
Please be careful and check the shelf price carefiully.

Dubai Annual Dog show
being held the year at Festival City Sat 21st February, 9am -5pm.
Its great family day out whether you have a dog or not, lots of stalls, food stands, displays and of course the dog competitions.
The competitions are for mixed breeds and pedigree's and don't be put off entering we're not talking Crufts, just a lot of fun!

 I just thought I would warn everyone out there - especially mothers with prams and kids. I was shopping at Deira City centre on Saturday late afternoon. I paid for something in H&M and by the time I got to Promod, my purse had been stolen.

How long will they take to get to DSO?
What is your escape plan? Do you have one? Maybe it is time to come up with a plan in case of a fire. We are a long way away from a fire station. I presume there is one at Mirdif or Nad al-Sheba. Either way, you have to presume they won't be coming in time if the fire is out of control.
